The domestic dog (Canis lupus familiaris and Canis lupus dingo) is a domesticated form of the gray wolf, a member of the Canidae family of the order Carnivora. The term is used for both feral and pet varieties. The dog may have been the first animal to be domesticated, and has been the most widely kept working, hunting, and companion animal in human history. The word "dog" may also mean the male of a canine species as opposed to the word "bitch" for the female of the species.

August 31, 2018 @ 9:40 PM Often the natural remedies are the best - and this is one of the more interesting I've come across - especially for such a virulent illness. We're headed into that season so time to be vigilant as you're taking those wonderful woodland walks.

Did you know that for every 10 people who consider pet ownership one will eventually do it? That means we just need to plant the seed with 30 million of our friends and every pet will have a home who needs one. Just 10% will do the trick!

How? Simple. Sharing!!! Pedegru alone has had a million views! What? It's true. 30 more and we're done. Share a page, start a Discussion blog, create a Pet Profile, #Pamily Profile (Pet Family), Marketplace Listing. Just adding a comment to a page will help it rank higher. Browsing 4000 Pet types in the gruPedia is a great place to start!

And it's free to all genuine #pethusiasts. Join and curate...have some fun, make a friend, and, make a diff!

August 20, 2018 @ 9:26 PM Southwest, who never ceases to amaze with their innovative and unique brand of marketing, is now going to allow service animals on flights! What makes this especially cool is that you'll be able to catch a flight, have the stewardesses entertain you with Southwest Stand-Up, and visit a petting zoo all at the same time. Whaaat?!

Now if they can just keep their engines on I think they may just have something going here. Aww, no I didn't ;-)

If you have an interesting story we'd love for you to add/curate on Pedegru. We exist to get people and pets closer help anyone who doesn't have a pet see how amazing they are and want to invite them into their homes.

The more we have on Pedegru in the way of Pets, Stories, Family Portraits, In Memorials, Marketplace Listings, etc, the more we will demonstrate to others how wonderful it is to have a pet in their lives.

Curate, curate, curate - and with baby steps there won't be a homeless pet left on the planet!
